Geogrids Slavros SD

Description

Geosynthetic material in the form of a flat biaxially oriented geogrid with a rectangular cell specifically designed to strengthen the pavement load-bearing bases, as well as for construction on weak soils and for applications in designs that perceive high dynamic and static loads. Biaxially oriented geogrids have high tensile strength in both longitudinal and transverse directions.

Areas of use:

  • reinforcement of constructive pavement layers in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing roads;
  • device temporary and technological roads;
  • providing travel facilities to construction sites;
  • widening of the carriageway and strengthening of the kerbs;
  • construction of areas under high loads.

Material advantages:

  • Geometrical parameters of the geogrid holes ensure the consolidated work of the layers of the road base;
  • high degree of material strength;
  • low elongation with maximum permissible load;
  • low brittleness and optimal ductility of the material compared with similar in application products from fiberglass;

Where is it used?

Road construction

The use of geosynthetic materials in the road industry is most significant in difficult weather, climatic and soil-hydrological conditions and is more significant from the point of view of the performance and transport-operational reliability of the structure than the one-time cost savings. 

Domestic and foreign experience in the use of geosynthetic materials shows their versatility (extensive field of use), costeffectiveness (reduced construction and operation costs, savings on building materials, reduced work time, increased turnaround time), environmental friendliness (use of non-toxic materials according to the conclusion of the Industrial Toxicology Laboratory ). 

The biaxially oriented Slavros SD geogrid is used on the contact of the soilcrushed stone in the layers of road pavement.
The structure of a rigid lattice with rectangular cells prevents the mixing of layers and interpenetration of materials, as well as ensuring the jamming of crushed stone in the grid, which leads to the joint work of crushed stone and geogrids, increasing the overall elastic modulus of the pavement, preventing shear and scattering of the gravel layer.

Installation technique

Prior to the commencement of work::

1)All excavation work must be performed.

2)It is necessary to check the conformity of the parameters of the base (degree of compaction, length, width, longitudinal and transverse slopes) to the design ones.

Construction site preparation

At the device layers from the Slavros SD geogrid the following operations are performed:

    1. Preparation of the base.
    2. Dumping of the underlying layer (sand).
    3. Transportation, distribution on the site of rolls "Slavros SD", its laying and anchoring.
    4. Dumping on the "Slavros SD" material overlying layer, its distribution and compaction.

Preparation of the base

Preparation of the base consists in surface profiling and compaction (if the base soil is heavily overwetted, then only planning is performed). The soil compaction factor must meet regulatory requirements, the surface should not have ruts, holes and other irregularities with a depth of more than 5 cm.

In the presence of deep gauge or pits, they are covered with soil and are planned by a grader or bulldozer. Shrub, trees are cut down and cut down in one level with the surface. In this case, the stump removal may not be carried out. If at the time of the work on the site there are surface water, then pour the leveling sand layer with a layer of geotextile.
